Here are some purple bathroom ideas and design tips: First of all you don’t really need to do too much to set a room to a color scheme. Just think of all the feature pieces in the room that could be used in the color palette you want. For example, in most bathrooms the biggest pieces (which tend to be the feature elements in the room) are the bathtub as seen in picture (1), the shower curtain if you have one (4), the cabinets, the walls (5), and the floor (6). Just by using purple on one of these areas will create a purple styled bathroom.

Painting the walls in purple (or having purple wall tiles) is defiantly one way to go. You can go all out and paint all of the walls purple or, if you want to tone it down a bit you can paint all the walls a neutral color like white/grey/black and have one feature wall that is just purple. Or instead of a feature wall, using purple cabinets in a neutral colored bathroom is another toned down alternative.

If you want to go down the accessories and decorations route, then it is best to go for a neutral color for the rest of the room. This way the purple pieces you choose will really pop out and create that purple decor style you’re looking for.

Don’t forget the shade of purple you choose will set the tone and feel of the room. A light colored shade will keep the bathroom feeling large and bright (8). While a dark shade will make the room feel a lot more intimate and cozier. 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

Having a grey color scheme for a bathroom is a great choice as it gives the room a modern and timeless design style. The thing is, it doesn’t take much to create a grey color scheme. If you were just to keep the room muted in all other colors, and use grey for one or two feature pieces, you’ll be able to create an elegant style.

Some feature pieces in the bathroom include the bathtub, the shower, the walls, and floors. These are the largest pieces/areas of the room and can be turned into focal points. One idea would be to have all of the walls white but have one wall grey – this one wall will stand out as a focal piece (you could always have all the walls grey).

From the pictures in the mood board, the overall color schemes of the bathrooms are mostly white and grey. This would be the go to choice – a grey and white bathroom. Other overall color palettes that work well with grey are yellow, black, purple, and blue.

To really keep that elegant grey design style, you want to avoid having too many colored accessories and furniture pieces in the room. Any colored pieces, like the blue curtains in picture (4), really stand out because the rest of the room is in muted colors (grey and white) and no other colorful pieces are there. But if you were to have a number of different colored pieces in the room, you take away from the grey color scheme. Some easy ways of adding color to the bathroom while keeping that elegant style is to introduce plants to the space.

Marble is a great material to use for grey bathroom designs – the kind where you have a lot of white but streaks of grey. This can be used for vanity countertops, backsplashes, or wall tiles.

One last thing when it comes to grey bathroom ideas is that the shade of grey you use in the bathroom will determine the style and feel of the space. In the pictures above, the bathrooms that use more white and light grey materials feel more spacious and airy. Yup, there are a ton of different materials you can use when it comes to bedroom flooring, everything from tiles (stone, clay), woods (teak, koa, bamboo), cork, marble, laminate to concrete and carpeting. The best flooring option for your bedroom will be based on these few criteria: cost, durability, and heating needs (tiles are better for homes in hotter climates – laminate can be a better choice for bedrooms that will need under floor heating). In this post we are not going to talk much about what material to choose, but instead we’ll go over creative flooring design ideas – like arrangements and using different shades of tiles or wooden planks.

One thing to remember when choosing the style and color of the floor that you want to have laid down, is that it will play a big role in the overall color scheme of the bedroom. Having dark walls and dark flooring will create a cozy intimate feeling room for example. Light colored walls and light colored flooring will create a bright and spacious bedroom. Going With Tiles: When it comes to tiles there are the simple, rustic designs. You can even get tiles that mimic hardwoods (1) (2). Then there are decorative and patterned designs which give a more vintage and traditional look (3).

There are a few things you can do with tiles to create a more unique floor design. One idea is to use different sized tiles to create the layout – like mixing square and rectangle tiles. Or how about laying out a border to break up the floor design? Another great look is if you were to use two slightly different shades, for example a brown and a slightly darker brown – this creates a timeless patterned look.

Designing with Concrete: A finished concrete floor is one of the more cheaper flooring options. This doesn’t have to be the sterile and industrial grey texture that it is known for. You can make it look more modern by having it polished – it can even be stained to create a color (4). Concrete can also be stamped to resemble hardwood planks and tiles.

Wooden Bedroom Flooring Ideas: When it comes to laying down wooden flooring, the go to design is to lay long planks in a parallel formation – which is a simple way of going about it. Then there are parquet floors, where a mosaic arrangement is made with short wooden pieces. The most famous parquet pattern is the herringbone (5). Other patterns include the ones seen in pictures (6) (7) (8) and the more chevron style seen in picture (9).

The patterned arrangements mentioned above can be done with a single shade of wood, or you create a even more patterned effect by using two or more different wooden shades (10).

Rugs: One last bedroom flooring idea to put to use are area rugs (11). These can help soften cold floors (and soften the floors of kids’ bedrooms), and they can also add a pop of color or add to the color scheme of the bedroom. 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11

Being free spirited and that cozy romantic feeling – that’s what the bohemian style (aka Hippie chic or boho style) is all about. It is less about being completely organized and having that minimalist clutter free look that is popular today. Instead, things are more casual – like having books stacked on the floor as seen in picture (2), or a mattress on the floor without a frame.

Fabric: If you really want to create a bohemian inspired bedroom, then look to have as much fabric decorating the space as possible. You’ve got fabric hanging from the furniture, ceiling and walls (3). Hang up scrunched up scarves. Layer the fabric as much as possible and look to have a quilt for the bed.

When choosing what fabric to use, mix and match different colors and styles as seen in picture (5) (with bits of lace (6)). Even when it comes to the floors, dark hued Persian rugs or a braided rug work best.

Boho Decor Accessories: Some bohemian bedroom ideas and decor pieces to use include lanterns (7), beaded curtains (9) and wind chimes, plants, feathers, moon and star ornaments, and dream catchers (10).
